Gunbae Chicken & Beer

Your next Korean Fried Chicken fix in Adelaide

We believe there are a few factors that make up a good dining experience; and of course, who you choose to dine with. Arguably, they are quality of food, customer service, value for money, speed of service, menu options and atmosphere.

Starting off strong, the quality of food at Gunbae is consistently high. The fried chicken is well sized and cooked to perfection with thin breading and optimal crispiness. The chicken is very tender, soft, moist and flavourful.
They offer boneless and boned chicken in different sizes that accommodate different preferences and party sizes.

You can choose from 4 different flavours (with sticky soy being our favourite) but there are additional sauces to pick from if the main 4 flavours don't appeal to you or you’re craving something more spicy!

The fat chips are delicious, crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. The green chilli mayo sauce complements the chips nicely but might not be for everyone. And we all know that fried chicken and fat chips are the most delicious duo!

The complementary side dishes with the fried chicken include their house-slaw and pickled radish. The house-slaw is quite simple but it certainly complements the chicken and hits the spot. I always ask for an extra side of the slaw and the radish because they go so well with the chicken.

The customer service experience at Gunbae has always been of a high standard. They are always very respectful and professional, quick to take your order, check on you to make sure that you don't need anything and are enjoying your food. The speed of service is fast and efficient, you don't wait long to order and you don't wait long for your food either.

While their main focus is their Korean Fried Chicken, they also offer some other delicious Korean dishes such as their Kimchi Jeon and their Joomukbap, and most recently, their delicious Beef Bulgogi!

As for value for money, their dishes are really quite fairly priced and the serving sizes are quite decent. It's also worth noting that the chicken comes with the complementary house-slaw and pickled radish. If you compare their prices with other Korean Fried Chicken venues in Adelaide, such as Plus 82 Pocha and Ban Ban, you can see that they're quite on par.

If you're craving some delicious Korean Fried Chicken, or just simply craving some tasty Korean food, be sure to check Gunbae out!
